Singapore is the most fascinating country in South east Asia. Fast-food joints and towering skyscrapers might factor heavily into your first impression of Singapore, but don’t let the city’s Western façade fool you. Just beneath the surface you’ll find the ancient temples in Chinatown, mosques on Arab Street, and exotic cuisine in Little India. For a break from the heat, a short cable car or ferry ride to Sentosa Island will reveal beaches, an aquarium, and even carnival rides—a sure bet for entertaining with kids in tow.
Singapore is a shopper’s paradise – shop at glitzy malls on Orchard Street or 24-hour store Mustafa Mart, China Town or Little India. Dine on sumptuous seafood at East Coast or at any of the food courts around Orchard Street that Singapore is known for.
